FlexNet Operations 2014
The status of FlexNet Embedded devices is indicated on various pages of the Administrative Console.
Device Status for FNE Clients and FNE Servers
The state of a client or server device is indicated by its status in the devices list of the Manage Devices page. The status is also reported on the Device Details, Create a Device, and Create a Server pages. A device’s state can be active, test, or obsolete.
The state of a device affects the types of operations you can perform on that device: An active device can be the target for any normal operation (like activation, download, and return) while an obsolete device only permits the return of add-ons and the deletion of the device.
Device Status for Served Clients
The status of served clients appears in the same locations on the Administrative Console, but it is not managed on the Administrative Console. (For served clients, the device status is sometimes referred to as Client Status.) The possible status values for served clients include normal, returned, dropped, and expired.
• | Normal—Served client is operating and currently managed by its parent FNE server. |
• | Returned—Served client still belongs to the FNE server but has returned all its features to the entitlement pool. |
• | Dropped—Served client has been manually dropped by a user on the FNE server. (Dropped device features return to the entitlement pool.) |
• | Expired—Served client's features have expired and the device has not checked in with its parent FNE server. |
