FlexNet Operations 2014
A user must be assigned a role with the View and Manage Configurations permission to modify configuration settings for Trusted Activation settings through the Administrative Console.
Note: Before changing any configuration settings in a working FlexNet Operations installation, it is advisable to export the working configuration settings. If there is a problem with the new settings, you have a backup of working settings to restore.
To configure trusted storage settings:
1. | Click Administer Operations, then System Configuration. |
2. | Click Trusted Storage Activations to open the configuration page for trusted storage. |
3. | View or change the values of the following settings. |
Name |
Possible Values |
Description |
Rqd? |
Restart |
Do not delete generate trusted configurations, ASRs and key files? |
Checked or unchecked |
Prevents or permits the deletion of generated files stored in the user data directory store. These files are generated when the first activation is requested using a new transaction key. |
|
|
Load web reg keys as part of activation for trusted type bulk entitlements? |
Checked or unchecked |
Select to prevent pre-loading of web register keys for bulk entitlements using a trusted license model. Web register keys are loaded dynamically at the time of activation. This setting does not affect bulk entitlements using a certificate-based license models. Those web register keys are always pre-loaded. |
|
|
Enable bulk entitlement linking while creating short code? |
Checked or unchecked |
Select to link a bulk entitlement when creating shortcode. This will only allow shortcode activation with bulk entitlement. |
|
|
Enable to unwrap lines for trusted activations |
Checked or unchecked |
In some network transport scenarios, the new line between the INCREMENT lines in the trusted storage response XML is getting stripped during transport causing the license to be invalid when it reaches the client. In these cases, the license will not get applied to the trusted storage. If this parameter is enabled, these new lines will be removed from license and then the response will be signed to avoid this problem during the transport. |
|
|
Enable internet address binding |
Checked or unchecked |
Determines whether or not to use internet address as one of the binding elements for every transaction key created. Use caution when changing this configuration option. Changing the binding elements may change trusted configurations and fulfillment records on your end users’ machines. Such changes can result in otherwise unnecessary repair requests. Default: Unchecked. |
|
|
Enable to send Host Address and Port Number in the Activation Response |
Checked or unchecked |
Determines whether or not activation responses include a host address and port number. Default: Checked. |
|
|
Force default Transaction Key for all FNP versions |
Checked or unchecked |
Forces the use of a default transaction key rather than a virtualization-aware transaction key for all trusted activations. Check this checkbox to use default transaction keys from both physical and virtual machines. When checked, FlexNet Operations does not require virtualization-aware transaction keys for activations originating from virtual machines. Leave the checkbox unchecked to allow trusted activations from earlier, supported FlexNet Publisher versions to use virtualization-aware transaction keys when the activation originated from a virtual machine (and a VMID is present). Default: Unchecked. For more information about FlexNet Operations behavior and virtualization policy settings, see About Virtualization Policy Settings and Behavior. |
