Partners and Distribution Tiers

FlexNet Operations 2014

Partner organizations identify organizations in your distribution chain. You can add multiple partner organizations in the Manage Organizations page. These all occupy the default distribution tier.

By default, FlexNet Operations includes only one partner organization. FlexNet Operations includes a distribution tier for the publisher, and one for Distributor. However, you can customize the distribution chain and add multiple distributors and multiple tiers by customizing the FlexNet Operations database and related properties files. Unique to partner organizations is their relationship to the parent, publisher orgnaization. Information about the transactions in the partner organizations flows up through the distribution chain so that these transactions are visible on the admin site.

Some FlexNet Operations features are only available to the publisher organization and partner organizations. For example, only partner organizations can move a device to other distribution tiers on the self-service portal site.
