Creating a New Organization

Administer Operations | Administer Organizations | Create an Organization

To be associated with an entitlement, a company must be entered as an organization in FlexNet Operations.

Users assigned a role with the View and Manage Organizations permission can view, add, and edit organizations.

To create a new organization

1. On the Administer Operations page, click Administer Organizations, choose an Organization Type tab, and then click Create an Organization.
2. On the Create Organization page:
a. Enter the Organization Name (required).
b. Enter the Display Name of the organization (required).
c. Add additional address information as desired.
d. Set the Visible to Others checkbox. To prevent partners in different distribution tiers from seeing information about this organization, un-check Visible to Others. To allow partners to see information about this organization, check Visible to Others.
3. Optionally, for publisher organizations, link product categories to the organization. Click Link Categories. Then, select the product categories to link and click OK. All members of the organization will have access to the linked product categories.
4. To link users to the organization, do one of the following:
Click Create a User to link a new user to the organization. Then follow the steps outlined in Creating a User to create the new user account.
Click Link Existing Users to link existing users to the organization. Select the users (and roles, if applicable) you wish to link and click OK.
5. Click Next. On the Linked Suborganizations page, select any suborganizations you wish to link to this organization.
6. Click Complete.

Once you have created an organization, you can create sub-organizations for it.
