FlexNet Operations 2014
A new or previously generated license certificate or custom license can be sent as an email attachment to one or more email addresses. The email attachment is sent as a file, by default called licensexxxxx.lic, where xxxxx is a random number. The subject of the license email cannot be edited; the subject line is:
Your license file attached
The Ship To Email field contains the email address where the license should be sent. This field contains email addresses that were specified in the entitlement or during license generation. Click Search to select an email address for one of the contacts in the sold-to organization. Additional email addresses can be entered, and multiple email addresses are formatted in a comma-separated list with no spaces.
After the email is sent, a confirmation message is displayed on the page.
Before you can successfully email a license certificate, you must configure FlexNet Operations:
| • | If you are emailing license certificates to customers, in the FlexNet Platform Server configuration settings, set the Outbound Mail Server Host to your organization’s mail server and From-Address for Outbound Mail to the email address you want to use as the sending address for license emails. |
| • | You may want to edit the license file base name, which is license by default. The License File Name can be changed in the FlexNet Operations system configuration settings. Note that a random number is added to this base name and a .lic extension is added. |
| • | Customize the license email template for your organization. Only one license email template is supported at a time, so create a customized version of the sample template provided in: |
ops_install_dir/site/webapps/flexnet/templates/operations_sendEmailWithLicenseAttachmentTemplate.xsl
Do not change the file name. If you must change the name of the template, change the name of the Email Template Name in the Email Template Settings system configuration. Do not edit this file directly: see the FlexNet Operations Implementation Guide for instructions to customize an email template. After editing the template, check that it contains well-formed XML with an XML editor.
