FlexNet Operations 2014
Permissions are grouped into roles, and roles are assigned to users. The following permissions are available in FlexNet Operations:
Alert Management
The following Alert Management permissions are available:
Permission |

Allows a user to browse available alerts and and subscribe to them. |

Allows administrator to define alerts and access the alert cleanup service. |
System Administration
The following System Administration permissions are available:

View system information displayed in the System Information page of Administer Operations. |

Configure the database connection, the behavior of the FlexNet Platform Server, the behavior of the Administrative Console, and the behavior of different portions of FlexNet Operations. Access to all functionality of the System Configuration page of Administer Operations. |
FlexNet Connect
The following FlexNet Connect permissions are available:

Operations Feature Bundles
The following FlexNet Operations Feature Bundles permissions are available:

View feature bundles in read-only mode. |

Edit feature bundles. If Update Feature Bundles is assigned to a role, also assign View Feature Bundles. |
|
Add feature bundles. If Create Feature Bundles is assigned to a role, also assign Update Feature Bundles. |
|
Change the state of feature bundles, such as deploying a feature bundle. If Change Feature Bundle State is assigned to a role, also assign Update Feature Bundles. |

Delete feature bundles. If Delete Feature Bundles is assigned to a role, also assign View Feature Bundles. |
Operations License Models
The following FlexNet Operations License Models permissions are available:

View license models in read-only mode. |

Add license models. If Create License Models is assigned to a role, also assign View License Models. |

Edit license models. If Update License Models is assigned to a role, also assign View License Models. |

Delete license models. If Delete License Models is assigned to a role, also assign View License Models. |

Change the state of license models. If Change License Model State is assigned to a role, also assign Update License Models. |
Operations Entitlements - Administrative Console
The following FlexNet Operations Entitlements permissions are available:

Description |
View entitlements in read-only mode. |

Edit entitlements. This includes changing any attributes of the entitlement, adding line items to the entitlement, upgrading an entitlement, renewing an entitlement, and upselling an entitlement. If Update Entitlements is assigned to a role, also assign View Entitlements. |

Upsell entitlements. If Upsell Entitlements is assigned to a role, also assign Update Entitlements. |
|
Upgrade entitlements. If Upgrade Entitlements is assigned to a role, also assign Update Entitlements. |
|
Renew entitlements. If Renew Entitlements is assigned to a role, also assign Update Entitlements. |
|
Add entitlements. If Create Entitlements is assigned to a role, also assign Update Entitlements. |
|
Change the state of entitlements. If Change Entitlement State is assigned to a role, also assign Update Entitlements. |

Self-Service Portal
The following Self-Service Portal permissions are available:

Generate a certificate license through the Self-Service Portal. If Generate Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign View Entitlements. |
Rehost |
Rehost a certificate license through the Self-Service Portal. If Rehost is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
Repair |
Repair a certificate license through the Self-Service Portal. If Repair is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
Return |
Return a certificate license through the Self-Service Portal. If Return is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
Manage Users and Organizations |
Manage users and organizations through the Self-Service Portal. This permission does not work for external domain (LDAP) users. For LDAP users, assign the separate, Manage Organizations and Users by Domain Users permission instead. |
View Licenses |
View licenses for a user’s organizations in read-only mode. |
Transfer Line Items |
Transfer entitlement line items through the Self-Service Portal. |
Manage Organizations and Users by Domain Users |
For external domain (LDAP) users only, manage users and organizations in the Self-Service Portal. This permission can be assigned to existing roles or to new roles, but it is not assigned to any roles by default. This permission does not work for non-LDAP users, who can be assigned the Manage Users and Organizations permission instead. |
Self-Service Portal Trusted Storage Licensing
The following Self-Service Portal trusted storage licensing permissions are available.

Web Services
The following FlexNet Operations Web Services permission is available:

Execute Web Services |
The authenticated Web services user must have this permission to perform any FlexNet Operations task through the public Web services. In addition to this permission, the user must have task-specific permissions as well. |
Operations Import
The following FlexNet Operations Import permission is available:

Import Fulfillments |
This permission allows the user to import legacy fulfillments using the Updating FlexNet Operations page. For more information about how to export fulfillments from a previous version of Operations and import them into this version, see the FlexNet Operations Implementation Guide. |
User Management
The following User Management permissions are available:

View the list of users and user groups. View a user or group in read-only mode. Groups can be viewed only if a directory service domain is configured. |

View, add, and edit users and groups. Reset a user’s password. Access to all functionality of the Administer Users and Administer Groups pages. Groups can be viewed only if a directory service domain is configured. |

View the list of users and view the definition of a role in read-only mode. |
|
View, add, and edit roles. Access to all functionality of the Administer Roles pages. |

View Logged-In Users |
View the list of logged in users in the system. |
View Domains |
View the list of user domains and view the configuration of a domain in read-only mode. |
View and Manage Domains |
View, add, and Manage Users domains. Access to all functionality of the Administer Domains pages. |
Organization Management
The following Organization Management permissions are available:

View the list of organizations and view an organization and its contacts in read-only mode. |

View, add, and edit organizations and their contacts. Access to all functionality of the Administer Organizations pages. |
Operations Features
The following FlexNet Operations Features permissions are available:

View features in read-only mode. Features are the bottom level in product hierarchy. |

Edit features. If Update Features is assigned to a role, also assign View Features. |
|
Add new features. If Create Features is assigned to a role, also assign Update Features. |
|
Change the state of features, such as deploying a feature. If Change Feature State is assigned to a role, also assign Update Features. |
|
Delete features. If Delete Features is assigned to a role, also assign View Features. |
|
View and set the following license strings on an individual feature, overriding the license string values specified for a license model: Vendor String, Notice, and Serial Number. To see these fields, the FlexNet Operations license file must contain the FlexNet_Ops.FeatureOverride feature. |
Operations Products, Suites, and Maintenance
The following FlexNet Operations Product, Suite, and Maintenance permissions are available:

Edit products, suites, and maintenance. If Update Products, Suites, and Maintenance is assigned to a role, also assign View Products, Suites, and Maintenance. |

Add products, suites, and maintenance. If Create Products, Suites, and Maintenance is assigned to a role, also assign Update Products, Suites, and Maintenance. |

Change the state of products, suites, and maintenance. If Create Products, Suites, and Maintenance is assigned to a role, also assign Update Products, Suites, and Maintenance. |

Delete products, suites, and maintenance. If Delete Products, Suites, and Maintenance is assigned to a role, also assign View Products, Suites, and Maintenance. |

Assign Product Categories |
Link product categories to user accounts in a customer organization. (The FlexNet Operations administrator must enable the Show Product Categories functionality system configuration setting.) This permission is provided only to accounts with the super administrator or portal administrator user roles by default. Permission to link product categories to user accounts can be granted to other user accounts by an administrator. In all cases, a user with this permission can assign only those product categories to which he or she is currently linked. Note: The ability to map products to product categories operates independently from the Assign Product Categories permission. |

The following FlexNet Operations Part Numbers permission is available:

Operations License Management
The following FlexNet Operations License Management permissions are available:

Description |
View licenses in read-only mode. If View Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign View Entitlements. |

Generate a license. If Generate Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign View Licenses. |
|
Transfer a license from one host ID to another. If Rehost Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
|
Modify license attributes other than the supported host IDs. If Repair Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
|
Regenerate a license because the publisher made an error generating the original license. If Correct Publisher Error is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
|
Generate a license to provide to a customer whose license has expired and has not yet completed the process of updating or renewing an entitlement. If Stop Gap Renewal is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
|
Generate an emergency license: a short-term license to provide to a customer whose license has not expired but is not functioning. If Generate Emergency Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign Generate License. |
|
Return licenses. If Return Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign Generate Licenses. |
|
Email a license. If Email Licenses is assigned to a role, also assign View Licenses. |

Operations Trusted Storage Licensing
The following FlexNet Operations Trusted Storage Licensing permissions are available. Additional permissions must also be assigned to see the Package Products, Activate Licenses, and Support Licenses landing pages to get access to the trusted storage licensing functionality.

Perform transfers of entitlement line items belonging to all sub-organizations of the user’s organizations. |
View Child Licenses |
View licenses belonging to all sub-organizations of the user’s organizations. |
Generate License for Child Line Items |
Generate licenses for all sub-organizations of the user’s organizations. |
Repair Child Fulfillments |
Perform repairs on fulfillments belonging to all sub-organizations of the user’s organizations. |
Manage Child Users and Organizations |
Create, manage and delete organizations for all sub-organizations of the user’s organizations. |
