Configuring Self-Service Portal Settings

Administer Operations | System Configuration | Self-Service Portal

A user must be assigned a role with the View and Manage Configurations permission to modify configuration settings for the Self-Service Portal through the Administrative Console.

Note: Before changing any configuration settings in a working FlexNet Operations installation, it is advisable to export the working configuration settings. If there is a problem with the new settings, you have a backup of working settings to restore.

To configure the Self-Service Portal

Click Administer Operations, then System Configuration.

Click FlexNet Operations Self-Service Portal to open the configuration page for the Self-Service Portal.

Make any setting changes that suit your configuration needs. Consult the tables, below, for additional information about the settings in each section.

Click Save Configs to save changes.

General Options

These settings correspond to the setting in the General Options section of the FlexNet Operations Self-Service Portal page in Administer Operations > System Configuration.

Self-Service Portal Settings: General Options

Transferred Items Set to On Hold	Checked or unchecked	Set the state of items transferred in the Self-Service Portal to On Hold and send an email to the FlexNet Operations administrator to approve the transfer by releasing the hold.
Enable Auto Login	Checked or unchecked	Check to enable an end user to log in to the portal by passing an activation ID or entitlement ID in the login URL.
Hide the Header	Checked or unchecked	Hides the header in all pages of portal. Check to enable when Self-Service Portal is embedded into an external portal.
Hide Left Navigation Pane	Checked or unchecked	Hides the left navigation pane in all pages of portal. Check to enable when Self-Service Portal is embedded into an external portal.
Hide the Menu Bar	Checked or unchecked	Hides the menu bar in all pages of portal.
Hide the Page Heading	Checked or unchecked	Hides the heading that is shown above the page content on each page.
Hide All Help Links	Checked or unchecked	Hides all help links on every page.

Self-Service Portal Settings: Login Page

Start Page

These settings correspond to the setting in the Start Page section of the FlexNet Operations Self-Service Portal page in Administer Operations > System Configuration.

Self-Service Portal Settings: Start Page

Hide Start Page	Checked or unchecked	Suppresses the Start page. When Hide Start Page is checked, users bypass the Start page when they log in. See “Logging in Directly to the Manage Entitlements Page” in the Implementation Guide for more information.
Hide Change Password Link	Checked or unchecked	Hides the Change Password link in the Start page navigation pane.
Hide Start Link	Checked or unchecked	Hides Start link in the menu bar.
Hide Manage Entitlements Link	Checked or unchecked	Hides the Manage Entitlements link in the Start page navigation pane.
Hide Map Activation IDs Link	Checked or unchecked	Hides the Map Activation IDs link in the navigation pane.
Hide Manage Licenses Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage Licenses link in the Start page navigation pane.
Hide Manage Devices Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage Devices link in the Start page navigation pane. Note that the Manage Devices link is automatically hidden when Hide Manage Machines Link is not hidden (unchecked). When the self-service portal shows the Manage Machines link, the Manage Devices link is hidden on the Start page. However, users can still navigate to the Manage Devices page by clicking the FlexNet Embedded Hosts link.
Hide Manage Machines Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage Machines links in the self-service portal. (The Manage Machines links are hidden by default.) When the Manage Machines links are shown (unchecked), the portal hides the Manage Devices link in the Start page navigation pane. However, the Manage Devices pages are still accessible, and users can navigate to the Manage Devices page by clicking the FlexNet Embedded Hosts link.
Hide Manage Embedded Hosts	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage Embedded Hosts links in the self-service portal.
Hide Manage All Hosts	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage All Hosts links in the self-service portal.
Hide Manage Organizations and Users	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Manage Organizations and Users view. When checked, the Manage Orgs & Users button in the top navigation bar and the Manage Organizations, Browse Organizations, and Browse Users links on the Start page are not shown.
Hide Activation Help Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the What is an Activation? help link on the Start page.
Hide License Help Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the What is a License? help link on the Start page.
Hide Return Link	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Return link on the Start page.

Manage Entitlements Page

These settings correspond to the setting in the Manage Entitlements Page section of the FlexNet Operations Self-Service Portal page in Administer Operations > System Configuration.

Hide Activate Button	Checked or unchecked	Hide the Activate button on the Manage Entitlements page. For publishers that support only trusted storage activation, hiding the Activate button prevents users from activating anything from the self-service portal.
