Viewing Device Usage History

FlexNet Operations 2014

You can view feature usage activity on the View Usage History page. The View Usage History page shows a log of feature usage activity for a served client device or, in the case of a server device, a log of feature usage activity for all the served clients that belong to that server. This page provides a timestamp for the update event, indicates the status of the served client, and shows the device ID (and device ID type), alias, host ID type, and features. In the Feature column, FlexNet Operations also shows the version and count for that feature at the time of the update event. You can also delete events from the usage history.

Note: Usage history events are distinct from the usage summary, device history, and request history data that are also available via the FlexNet Operations administrative console. See Viewing Usage Summary, Viewing Device History, and Viewing Device Request History for more information about these options.

The usage history updates are gathered by the server and reported to FlexNet Operations. A usage history cleanup job (disabled by default) can help manage the amount of usage history data your FlexNet Operations instance retains. See Configuring Embedded Devices Settings for information about usage history cleanup job settings.
